Jodie Lysaght – Midwife

Jodie grew up in Dunedin, but Christchurch has been her home for the past 11 years. Jodie completed her
midwifery degree in Christchurch and has not looked back since realising her passion for midwifery and
women’s health.

Jodie strives to give women and their whanau/families the best care possible ensuring that care is
individualised to client’s specific needs. Jodie believes that listening, encouraging and supporting the right
for women to make their own choices during this special journey, including supporting women to birth
wherever they feel most comfortable and safe. This could be at home, in one of the primary units, or at
Christchurch Women’s Hospital.

Jodie has two children of her own, Sophie and Jack and is married to Sean. Additionally, Jodie has three
very cool step daughters, Ruby, Gemma and Lily.

Jodie has been privileged to work with and support women including their whanau/families through the
amazing life events of pregnancy, birth, and becoming parents welcoming new life into the world. Jodie
feels that working alongside women and her own life experiences have provided her with a variety of
communication and personal relationship skills which will be a great support to you and your
whanau/family.

When Jodie is not immersed in midwifery, she is organising her busy household and loves to travel when
she can. Jodie looks forward to working alongside you in your journey into motherhood.
